Green Seal, Inc has this to say about NativeScapes: We were exceedingly pleased with Ms. Christmus's work in the landscape evaluation of The Pentagon. She was thorough and accurate and made very good recommendations for improvements. She is clearly an expert in horticulture and in the application of native species to landscapes. In addition, she has excellent knowledge of appropriate landscape practices to reduce or eliminate the need for soil amendments, pesticides, and other chemical interventions.
For the specific planning and selecting of the best plants, project consultant, Nancy Christmus, was invaluable. She first tested the soil and then provided a list of recommended plants and trees and sketches of their best placement. Her enthusiasm and eagerness to share her knowledge and experiences made the project’s journey exciting. -Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Alexandria, VA
I've been a long time searching the commercial greenhouses and garden centers for somebody who truly understands the value of going native. Nancy and NativeScapes are the colorful, creative, and ecologically sustainable answers to those generic, uninspired, and - in too many cases - environmentally unfriendly warehouse brands of floral landscaping that have undersold America's natural beauty. NativeScapes is the green and graceful way back to your native roots. -W.S. - Fairfax, VA
It was great working with Nancy. She is incredibly knowledgeable and imaginative. She works very collaboratively. I had a vision of what I wanted and she provided the knowledge to carry it out. And she went out of her way to work with and instruct the landscape company I had hired when I could not be there. - J.S. - Vienna, VA
